Welcome to the site dedicated to Dendrochronological
Studies in Bulgaria
We have created it to present in brief
the scientists, research projects and topics, study sites
and species and active laboratories.
In several brief sentences:
We are interested mostly in the study
of the influence of climate-related topics, disturbances,
forest dynamics and pollution on tree rings. You can read
more about the study topics in the Research set of pages.
NEWS:
In 2013 the members of the Dendrochronological
team in the University of Forestry started their participation
in Swiss-Bulgarian cooperative project "Subalpine forest
development in Bulgaria under climate change".
It is a cooperation between the SLF
(WSL) and the University
of Forestry in Sofia. Please, follow
the link to learn more about the project.
We have worked mainly with those species:

- Pinus heldreichii (also
known as Pinus leucodermis)
- Pinus mugo (ssp. Turra)
